Creating sustainable energy

Here at Blazers we have a passion to produce sustainable energy.

From making significant investments in our Ruthin Site in North Wales, to minimising our carbon footprint, at Blazers Fuels we are committed to producing products that are as beneficial to the environment as they are to our consumers.

Blazers Fuels

Life-cycle Analysis (LCA, also known as life-cycle assessment, ecobalance, and cradle-to-grave analysis) is a technique to assess environmental impacts associated with all the stages of a product’s life from raw material extraction or harvesting through materials processing, manufacture, distribution, use, repair and maintenance, and disposal or recycling.

We at Blazers use this process to help critique our products and demonstrate the level of impact the production of our products has on the environment. We are very proud to say that our products are exceptionally environmentally friendly.

Net Contributor

Not only do we create all the electricity we need to run all of our sites; we actually create enough to sell some back to the local grid as well. In fact in 2020 we will export enough electricity to power around 1,800 homes.

Sourcing

Over 90% of our raw material comes from Sawmills within 40 miles of our drying and manufacturing plants in Ruthin and Kinmel Bay in North Wales. This means that not only does this keep our carbon footprint to a minimum, but we don’t have any reliance on high carbon footprint, and in some cases, unsustainable, imported timber.

Renewable Heat Incentive [RHI]

In order to qualify for RHI, customers, both domestic and commercial must purchase their fuels from suppliers registered on the Biomass Suppliers List (BSL). Blazers Fuels Ltd and each of the fuels products that we produce are registered on the BSL so you can buy and burn with confidence.
